COVID-19 Update

Given the recent surge in COVID-19 infections, CPFS will require everyone to wear a mask while in the building. Also WE ENCOURAGE EVERYONE THAT IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE THE COVID-19 VACCINE. It’s a small sacrifice we can make to help protect our loved ones and the larger community.

In addition, we’ve adopted the following procedures (consistent with the CDC recommendations):

  1. We require anyone who is ill (i.e., fever, cough) to stay home until you have been symptom free for a minimum 14 days.
  2. While in the office, we will model and require “social distancing”. That is, maintain six to eight feet distance from all others.
  3. Masks are required.
  4. We will frequently be disinfecting common surfaces (countertops, door knobs, stair rails, etc.)
  5. We have hand-washing facilities and hand sanitizer stations readily available and urge patients to use them.

We are committed to remaining available to our patients during this public health crisis and will maintain our normal office hours for now. Caution and patience are the main ingredients to meet this crisis without panic.

In our continued commitment to offering needed mental health services during this public health crisis, we now offer interactive video sessions. Insurance carriers, including Medicare, have expanded coverage for these services. Here at Clinical Psychology of Fort Smith, LLC, we use a HIPPA-compliant, secure platform that is user-friendly. To get more information about these services or to book an appointment, please call our office at (479) 783-0445.

Earlier this year, Richard F. “Rick” Murphy, Jr. PhD, retired after a professional career that spanned five decades.  Along with Dr. Phil Barling, Dr. Murphy co-founded Clinical Psychology of Fort Smith in 1991.  During his career, Dr. Murphy helped thousands of people in the River Valley.  We at CPFS, congratulate Dr. Murphy on his career and wish him a long and enjoyable retirement.
